![]() (however even the Riches, deep in the woods of northern Maine, relied on their neighbors - and without shame) I hope more Coloradians move here and bring the sunshine with them. ![]() ![]() without these things we should all "take to the woods" like Louise Rich. these are the simple, happy, helpful things about living near other humans. I'm not suggesting we all come together and raise each other's barns, but reaching out to your new neighbor and offering to help or be accessible in a meaningful way would be a good start. Everyone with kids knows "it take a village". I still contend that the self reliant, reserved yankee attitude is a major con. lower cost of living than Denver except for wine, ski passes, and gas (all cheaper in CO) access to beaches from Maine to Rhode Island - definitely not landlocked and I remember feeling very much so in Denver especially in the summer Cross country skiing and snowshoeing here are fantastic seeing as there's snow on the ground throughout most winters - snowshoers cut common trails to the benefit of walkers in regular shoes The North country is pristine - and although the Whites don't have the awe inspiring and humbling effect of the Rockies, they do have a quiet beauty that is marvlous the nature trails are wonderful and accessible People walk dogs off leash on most every trail - it's a luxury that I hope continues to be a part of living here. the leash laws (at least around Concord) are wonderful compared to Colorado - I haven't encountered one ranger or or gotten one ticket. And NH is wonderful so I will take this opportunity to offer up my pros: Good points about communities related to schools and religion.
